Barramundi Prime Time!

______________________________________________

As wet season floods recede its all about Barra in the top end!

Barra fishing in Darwin heats up as the wet season comes to a close. The humidity drops and cool breezes start tickling the coast line of the top end. At this prime time of the year there is no better place to be than aboard an extended fishing charter with Watty and Barefoot Fishing Safaris.
Big numbers of big Barra and King Threadfin fill the rivers to gorge on the masses of bait being forced from floodplains as river systems recede.
This is peak season and peak fishing. Fishing in the world heritage listed National Park of Kakadu  you will enjoy amazing scenery, calm water and the best Barra fishing the country has to offer!
Plus you are away from the crowds. There are only 3 guided fishing operators with permits to fish in the National Park and Barefoot is one of them!

As the massive floodplains of the Northern Territory iconic Barra fishing locations such as the Mary, Daly, Finnis, South and East Alligator rivers start to subside, millions of bait fish and other Barra treats have nowhere else to go but downstream. If a Barramundi is on your bucket list a Darwin Barra Fishing Charter at this time of year should be high on your list of priorities.

This creates a barra fishing heaven as big hungry barra gather to gorge themselves on the tasty tucker flowing off the floodplains.

With your rod in hand atop the large casting deck of Barefoot II you just need to add your lure or fly to the water for the chance to snag a majestic barramundi!

Cricket-score catches can happen at this time of the year as well as providing the ideal conditions to chase the heart-thumping arm-pumping 100cm-plus barra we call meterys – the holy grail for every barra fisho.

Along with the best barra fishing the Territory has to offer Watty also has a few sneaky spots to find a tasty snapper or jewfish for a change of pace and something different on the table.

Without a doubt this is one of the best times of year for your Darwin Barra Fishing Charter with Barefoot Fishing Safaris.
